Visualeyes Overpowers Chef's

BONITO, SCHOTTKE NET 5 POINTS;
BELLOWS, COOPER and DUNNIGAN NET 4 POINTS APIECE

Team Visualeyes' high octane offense could not be contained Friday evening at Buffalo State Arena, as they rolled over Chef's 12-8 in EMHL divisional play.

League Leader in goals and points, Eric Schottke got the ball rolling early in the first period beating the Chef's goaltender on passes from T.J. Cooper and Robert Simpson.  Schottke has put up 52 points, (27G, 25G) in just 13 games played thus far. Schottke finished the night with three goals and two assists.

2012 Rookie of the year, Adam Bellows increased the lead by two on the following shift. Bellows provided 4 goals throughout the game and stood tall defensively, finishing +8 with partner Drew Leberer.

Max Bonito added the 3rd and 4th tallies for Team V halfway through the first period and has really picked up his game offensively as of late. Bonito has combined for 9 points in the last two games, picking up four against the Brownshaft's (2G, 2A) and five points in the win over Chef's (2G, 3A). "Flash" Bonito has restructured his off-ice training to focus more on generating an explosive stride while still finding that gentle touch around the net. Flash credits most of his recent success to the new undisclosed process.

Schottke finds Simpson Backdoor
Visualeyes began the second frame with three beautiful goals; the first, Flash Bonito found T.J. Cooper with a picture perfect pass. Cooper buried Bonito's feed from the low slot. Cooper found the back of the net once more later in the third, and added two assists in the game, increasing his point total to 21. The second started with a double drop pass by the Tioga Terror and was finished by Bellows; Schottke dropped to Dunnigan and Dunnigan left the puck for the D-man joining the rush. To increase the lead by five, Schottke hit a streaking Robert Simpson backdoor to beat the Chef's goalie's out-stretched glove. The 8-3 lead, lead to some lazy and foolish play, and Chef's quickly answered with four goals of their own in five minutes. Sophomore Adam Bellows responded with just 24 seconds remaining in the period, letting a bomb go from the point. Team V took their 2 goal lead into the final period.

The speed and puck movement of Visualeyes was far too much for Chef's to handle, as they tried to roughen things up by high sticking, head-butting, spearing, and other forms of unruliness early on in the third. Matthew English suffered a gash on his lower lip from a flying Chefman's stick and provided some inspirational words for the members of Chef's team to remember him by. Team Doctors mended English's lip up in blazing time, having #2 back for his next shift. Team V took the grizzled veteran's actions into consideration and answered, both physically and on the scoreboard, dominating the rest of the period 3-1 and finishing off their 9th win of the season 12-8.

"It's good to see we are starting to hit our stride. We battled hard and took care of each other with some dirty play by guys that cannot keep up, they muck it up, so we answer and finish it. Unfortunately some guys took some selfish penalties, making themselves feel good and not being concerned about the team." Said Ryan Donnelly after the game. Donnelly is on pace to have a career year with 11 points halfway through the season.
