TEAM EFFORT TACKLES SWAMP DONKEYS: Simpson-Corigliano Suspended

Team Visualeyes took the ice Tuesday night against their final "B" league opponent of the year, the Swamp Donkeys, and went out in style. Visualeyes dominated the Donkeys, on the scoreboard, physically and mentally, in a 10-6 final.

Team V got out to a slow start, struggling to find the twine until halfway through the first period. Bob Simpson-Corigliano (Tonawanda) backed up his talk with his 20th goal of the season. Visualeyes continued to roll in top gear, going on to score 7 goals before the Donkeys could net one on the birthday boy, Adam Roma (Lancaster).

From there on out, the game turned into an all out circus, with sideshow acts all over the ice. Plenty of chirping and incredible goal celebrations confirmed Visualeyes' bore of playing yet another "B" league opponent. Centreman Don Borsuk (West Seneca) undoubtedly had the best celebration of the night after scoring with less than a minute to go in the game. Borsuk was hit late after his goal and while on the ice, started a 3 part celebration with a fantastic swim move. Next he added a great right handed fist pump, followed by a move that has not been pulled off in years, the double fist pump. After the game, Borsuk relayed a message that most of Team V could agree with, "Its good to get this "B" league bologna out of the way. It's a part of the season, no one likes it, but it's on the schedule every year."

The circus finale concluded with Simpson-Corigliano winning the ensuing face-off, skating the puck over his own blue line and wiring a slap shot past his own goaltender for the Donkey's sixth goal of the night. Simpson-Corigliano's actions earned him a one game suspension handed down not by the EMHL, but from Team Visualeyes' upper management.

A 4 point night for Dan Brown
Lancaster native, Dan Brown, had a stellar night, netting his third hat-trick of the season and adding one assist. Brown and Simpson-Corigliano are tied for second in points on Team V with 39, trailing team leader, Eric Schottke (Tonawanda) by five points.

Team Visualeyes heads into the final stretch of the regular season, with four, tough division opponents starting with Elmwood Cozumel Wednesday night at 10:50pm. If Visualeyes can win all four of the remaining regular season games, they can lock up the EMHL regular season title and earn a bye in the first round of the playoffs. In order to do so, Visualeyes must play a full 45 minute game, especially a sound third period. In the last two games, Visualeyes has been outscored 9-1 in the third period.

NEWS AND NOTES:
-"I am going to score a goal and fight anyone on Cozumel next game." Andrew Valint (Tonawanda) said only a month ago.

-D-man Matt English-Gunning (West Seneca) recently finished the Livestrong Marathon in Austin, TX in 3:59:25. WAY TO GO MATT!!

-Steve Browne's (Kenmore) recent scouting trip to South Florida turned out to be a bust. Steve flew down south with high expectations but the Cubans obviously didnt impress him. Browne looks to hit the ice hard Wednesday after a rough scouting trip.
