Team Visualeyes Extends Winning Streak to Five

An 8-5 victory Sunday night over the Peace Frogs gave Visualeyes their fifth straight win. The team improved its record to 11-3-2 and did so in a team wide effort that saw seven different goal scorers find the back of the net.

BILLONI LEADS THE WAY
First time coach, Christopher Billoni (Kenmore) managed a tight bench and lead the well balanced attack which proved to be too much for the Sunday night heroes of the EMHL. Several MLK Day celebrations left Team V shorthanded so Player/Coach/GM/Equipment Manager, Drew Leberer was busy on the phone for most of the day. He turned to Chris Fedele (Williamsville) and former North Buffalo Bisons standout, Mike Denz (Buffalo). Denz, who was called up for the game on last minute notice, stepped up and scored first for Visualeyes. Coach Billoni decided to keep Fedele on the bench for the first two periods, and unveil his secret weapon in the third. Fedele saw the ice early on in the third period and provided a great defensive effort from the right wing and helped secure the victory.

Jeremiah Crowe (Kenmore) kept his goal scoring streak alive, pushing it to 4 games with a two goal night, showing his defensive comrades how to skate the puck end to end and then "let the
dog out" from just over the blue line.

Goalie Adam Roma (Lancaster), earned his 11th win of the season, on a night where there wasn't that much help from his blue-liners. Plenty of odd man rushes challenged Roma, yet he found a way to turn away 25 of 30 shots. His acrobatic saves were much to the liking of the larger than normal crowd which was due to his father. "I'd like to thank Ron Roma for buying the remainder of the tickets so this game could be locally televised. He donated them to charity, but none of them showed up to watch the great team effort." Roma said after earning the Visualeyes' plunger as player of the game.

The five other goal scorers were Max Bonito
(Amherst), T.J. Cooper (Hamburg), Dan Brown (Lancaster), Drew Leberer (North Tonawanda), and Bob Simpson-Corigliano (Tonawanda). While Team V did get the win, skating at times was extremely sloppy and Simpson-Corigliano explained. "I thought the team took a step back tonight, I did especially, breaking two sticks!"
