VISUALEYES PLUGS THE WHALERS' BLOWHOLE

Team V Dominates 3rd Period with Four Unanswered Goals, Beats Whale 6-2

Coming into Wednesday night's game versus the 4-1 Whalers, TeamV was deflated, dropping an ugly 14-7 loss to The All Black Hockey Sticks (formerly UB Dental) last week. Visualeyes play has been inconsistent early on in the 13-14 EMHL season, dropping the opener to La Nova, bouncing back with a large 16-6 win over The Indians and a last minute Joe Mariano goal  to beat Cozumel 4-3 before eventually falling to All Black Hockey.

Games against Winter's Whalers always have an added bit of intensity to them as the two teams have a long history between them. The Whale opened up the scoring halfway through the first frame on a low shot by James LeCuyer. Matt Mesi responded for Visualeyes with only 25 seconds remaining in the first period to tie the game at one.

The Whale jumped out to a 2-1 lead on a back door goal from the point. Perennial EMHL All-Star, Eric Schottke quickly tied the game at two one minute later, and returning goaltender, Robert Tates shut the door for Team V for the remaining period and a half.

The third period was all Team V as Matt Mesi added his second of the night 90 seconds into the last frame and Max Bonito buried his third of the year a minute later on a pass from Team V's big free agent signing, Joe Mariano. Tates continued to play solid, making several great stops and allowed Visualeyes to take control of the Whale. Visualeyes would go on to score two more power play goals off the stick of Garren Reisweber.

With the win, Visualeyes improves to 3-2, and knocked the Whalers out of the EMHL Seasonal Tournament. Team V is right back at it tonight, facing off against Chef's at 10:50 PM at The Buffalo State Arena. Great Seats are still available!
