Visualeyes Smother The Peace Frogs 5-1

Coming off of a tough loss against Winter's Whalers, Visualeyes rebounded with a 5-1 win over the Peace Frogs Sunday evening at Buffalo State Arena.

Garren Reisweber led the way for Team V, knocking home his first of the night from Jeremiah Crowe and Marvin Mesi. With just over two minutes remaining in the first period, the Peace Frogs knotted the score at one, but  that was the last time goaltender Robert Tates would not allow a puck to beat him against the Frogs. Tates would finish the night with 29 saves.

Garren "RANCH-HAND" Reisweber Scores Twice in Win
Reisweber and Mesi teamed up once again, with Reisweber netting his second tally of the game, eventually proving to be the game winner. After struggling last game against the Whaler's, Duff Dunnigan turned a new leaf and earned a play-maker, assisting on the final three goals for Visualeyes.  Dunnigan's 34 assists are a team high.

Visualeyes worked the puck well and controlled play in the second and third periods with Adam Bellows adding two, and Don Borsuk scoring one goal in the win.

"It was good to get a lot guys back from injury and play with the full team we expect to have in playoffs. I was tired in the third though. I could have used a shift off but my line-mate was thrown off the bench by Coach and that fatigue lead to my undisciplined stick slashing." said Borsuk after the game.

Team leader in PIMs, Bob Simpson, was thrown off the ice by Player/Coach Drew Leberer in the third period after taking a retaliatory penalty. "I'm not going to stand for that type of play this late in the season. It's time to tighten things up and focus on our third EMHL Cup. Bob and I spoke today, addressed the issue and  will be putting it behind us." said Leberer.

NEWS AND NOTES:

- Goaltender Robert Tates played extremely well in his two games with Visualeyes, but Matt Baudo will return in between the pipes for Team V and haul the bulk of the load for the remainder of the season. After getting some much needed time off,  Baudo said he felt refreshed and ready to go. "I'm really excited for a new start."

-Visualeyes faces off against division rival, Elmwood Cozumel on Thursday, January 30th at 9:20 PM at the Buffalo State Arena. Great seats are still available.
