BROWNE MEANS BUSINESS |
Bob Simpson-Corigliano added two goals against Sam Adams, the eleventh of the season in style with an impressive rush that split the defense and deking top shelf. "Sam Adams came out flying with their top line and we were able to keep our composure and swing momentum to our side. I thought the coaches did a nice job of matching lines, keeping our top two D, (Crowe and Leberer) versus their big guns and putting our lesser quality pair (Duff and Dons) against their scrubs." said Simpson-Corigliano (Tonawanda)
Matt Mesi's was hot as well netting two goals in the victory. The first came when Jeremiah Crowe returned the favor from the first period and found Mesi back door for a one-timer. Mesi's second goal not only burned the goalie, but burned a hole in the net. The slapshot from #28 had enough power behind it to match Fulton Reed on his best day.
Goaltender Adam Roma (Lancaster), stood tall once again, earning his ninth victory on the season, putting him in second place in the EMHL. Roma turned away 30 of 34 shots.
The game Tuesday night had a little more meaning to it than just your normal EMHL match up for rookie defenseman, Duffy Dunnigan (Getzville). Dunnigan played last year with Sam Adams, and this was the first time he faced his old mates. "Its always hard facing your old team for the first time. But you gotta take it like any other game. Its good to see old friends and teammates, but once you buckle that chin strap, its all business. Its clear that I made the right decision on joining Visualeyes, for both myself and my family."
